Keeping busy can help take the focus off your hurt.<\/li><li>DO realize that your self-worth isn\u2019t rooted in being best friends with the person who dumped you. You\u2019re still you, and plenty of other people like you just the way you are.<\/li><li>DO use this time to start exploring new possible friendships.<\/li><li>DON\u2019T try and blame anyone for getting dumped. It\u2019s just not that important.<\/li><li>DON\u2019T try to seek revenge on the person who dumped you. It will just make your life a whole lot worse.<\/li><li>DON\u2019T try to respond to every criticism you hear that your ex-best friend telling others about you. If it\u2019s serious, go directly to your ex-best friend and ask him or her why that stuff is being said. And if what\u2019s being said is mostly true, be sure and tell your ex-best friend how sorry you are. The friendship may not ever be the same, but it will sure make each of you feel better.<\/li><li>DON\u2019T take it too personally. Truth is, at your age, friends are likely to come and go. Accept it for what it is.<\/li><li>DON\u2019T give back any gifts you may have given each other. Put them away for now. If you want to get rid of them later, you might find a good home for them.<\/li><li>DON\u2019T do the same thing to someone else. If you and your best friend are no longer a good match, be up-front and kind about the situation.
